Where is Calgary ??

It's Closer Than You Think
Alberta is in Western Canada, framed by the Rocky Mountains on its western border, and vast prairies to the east. Geographically, it rests just to the north of Montana, and is a short direct flight from most major U.S. centers. Summers in Alberta are refreshingly warm, with an average daytime high of 70° degrees Fahrenheit (21° degrees Celsius). It also contains two of Canada’s largest and most vibrant cities, Edmonton and Calgary, and its total population is closing in on 4 million people.

AUGUST 11 -14 CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Due to the popularity and request for a second ride in the Panther and Ya Ha Tinda area, we will be offering two trips for 2008, one in July and one in August.

Thanks to Barrier Mountain Outfitters, we are able to offer this great ride with Cabin / Lodge accommodation and yes, it even has showers.  This area offers rides to Hidden Falls, Chinamen’s Peak (high above timberline), Eagle Lake, Dormer Lake / Corners and more.  The ride up Chinamen’s Peak is well worth the cost of the trip, simply put it is spectacular!

Included in the trip is a tour of the famous Ya Ha Tinda Government Ranch.  This is where the Warden horses from the National Parks are pastured for the winter and where they  train colts for the Warden service.  Long time friends,  Rick Smith the Ranch Manager and his wife Jeanie are gracious enough to give us a tour and history of the Ya Ha Tinda Ranch.

On the morning of departure we meet our guests at the Mountain Aire Lodge at around 10:00am.

If you are searching for a great horseback vacation, but wish not to travel with pack horses or sleep in a tent, then this is the trip! Also, if you have your own horse and wish to join us you are welcome to do so.

We look forward to having you join us this summer which marks our 30th Anniversary.
